The Merida eBig Tour 400 EQ is an electric bike which allows you to experience mountain bike trekking at its best. The eBig Tour combines mountain bike design with trekking at the core of the riding experience on this bike. The alloy frame is based on the eBig Nine Frame which is light and tough with a more upright geometry, yet matched with a Suntour XCR34 LOR DS Fork with 100mm travel for added comfort. The integrated Shimano STePS E8036 630 Wh Battery is centrally located for an optimised centre of gravity and it charges in under 6 hours, with a 25% increase in capacity over previous models. Merida's Energy Twist Guard protects your battery and gives you easy access to the battery thanks to the tool-less locking, finished off with a satellite charging port at the down tube/seat tube junction for easy access. The Shimano EP8 Drive Unit packs a bigger punch with 85 Nm and is also lighter by 300 grams for a swift ride which is quieter and smaller with a 36% reduction in drag.
You'll be hard pressed to find a weak spot on this bike, kitted out with Shimano Deore Shifters and rear derailleur for a smooth operation. While the Shimano MT402 2 Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes give you the reliable control you need over a heavier e-bike, especially if you load this bike up for the full trekking experience. Go Big & Go Bold: The eBIG.TOUR EQ is rolling on 29er wheels which have fantastic ‘rolling over obstacles’ behaviour. As standard, it comes equipped with 2.2" wide tyres which offer plenty of grip and comfort.
Water Carrier: The eBIG.TOUR EQ frame offers the possibility to fit a water bottle or further accessories like a lock or pump in two different positions. One is on the top of the down tube, while a second is below the top tube. This gives the rider, besides the possibility to mount bottle cages, the option to mount for example a folding-lock or pump bracket.
System Weight: The system weight of a bike is the combined weight of bike, rider and additional luggage. The allowed system weight is 140 kg. As an e-bike is already heavier than a regular bike, and as it also makes it easier to transport larger amounts of luggage, it is imperative to certify a higher overall system weight.
