Merida Reacto Track 500 Track Bike Green/Black
The Merida Reacto Track 500 is a proper track/fixed wheel style bike built for junior track cyclists and entry level riders. It is made with a UCI compliant Reacto Lite Track frame and is built to perform. Made from high-end aluminium (6066), it is extremely light and durable. It is made with triple butted wall thickness and hydroforming technology to tune the aluminium tubes so that it has the best possible stiffness to weight ratio. The aerodynamics are based around a NACA0028 teardrop profile (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) which is truncated. Air moves around the tube as though the missing rear section of the teardrop were still there, saving weight by using less material. While a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom also improves stiffness and gives you precise steering you can ben confident in. The frame is finished internal cabling and double pass welding, to give it that sharp carbon-like appearance.
The sliding dropouts provide adjustable and precise chain tension regardless of your gear ratio and the full carbon aero fork with a tapered steerer tube gives you excellent control and precise handling on the track or road. The Merida Reacto Track 500 comes at an entry-level price but is great value for any aspiring track cyclist.

Internal Clamp 2019: Designing WorldTour bikes is similar to Formula 1: apparently nondescript details can result in saving split seconds. Integrated seat-post clamping minimises turbulence at the top tube.
