The Merida Speeder 400 is a flatbar road bike built for the fitness enthusiast or commuter that wants a fast and efficient ride. The flatbar combines the relaxed Comfort Geometry with road bike parts and design to give you a much more comfortable ride than your traditional road bike, but you still get all of the benefits of a roadie.
The Speeder 400 frame is built to the same standards as Merida’s alloy road frames, built from lightweight 6066 triple butted and hydroformed aluminium, with smooth welding for that carbon-like finish. The reliable alloy frame is complemented by the tapered CF2 carbon fork which smoothly absorbs vibrations and offers excellent stiffness and steering. The final touch is the internal cable routing so that your cables are protected from the elements
The Speeder 400 is a relaxed bike with serious spec, starting with the 2x11 Shimano 105 drivetrain and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. The 105 drivetrain will give you smooth and consistent shifting with a good range of gears to get up some serious speed, while the hydraulic disc brakes will give you all-weather control over your speed. Carbon Fork: Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.
X-Taper Headtube: Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.
Internal Cable: Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
F-Mount: ‘F-Mount’ equipped bikes have integrated fittings for mud guards (some bikes require model specific mud guards), making fitting fast and simple.
